Your GmbH has to transmit its e-Bilanz to the Finanzamt. Your annual accounts are done. But operating ELSTER yourself? You don't have to.
Upload balance sheet and P&L. Review. Approve. At the Finanzamt in under ten minutes. From 29,95 €. No subscription.
First: does it fit? Three short questions — GmbH or UG, size class, calendar year. And if it doesn't fit, we say so honestly instead of guessing.
Then: your finished annual accounts. PDF, Excel or CSV — just drag them in. We read the figures and present them to you for confirmation, one to one. Your figures stay your figures.
Before any payment: the free preview. Every position, every mapping, in plain language. Plus the balance check: assets equal liabilities.
And if a mapping isn't unambiguous? We don't guess. You see the question, you make the choice, you confirm. The decision stays with you.
Only when everything fits: payment. 29,95 € net, securely via Stripe. One-time, no subscription.
Transmission happens only after your explicit approval — signed with your own ELSTER certificate. Certificate and PIN are used for this one transmission only and never stored.
Seconds later: your Transferticket — the proof of your transmission to the Finanzamt. Along with the transmitted XBRL file and your invoice, on screen and by e-mail.
eBilanz Fabrik. Software, not tax advice. Your figures stay your figures. → ebilanzfabrik.de
What happens inside eBilanz Fabrik: your finished annual accounts are read, mapped to the official HGB XBRL taxonomy, technically checked, and — on your approval — transmitted to the Finanzamt via ERiC. Under 10 minutes.
Done — without the ELSTER hassle, without losing your afternoon. Finished numbers in, filed e-Bilanz out.
Nothing is transmitted until you explicitly approve it. Your data is used solely for your engagement — no profiling, no selling; we retain only what the law requires (§ 147 AO).
29,95 € (net, plus 19 % VAT). No subscription, per filing.
Why I built eBilanz Fabrik
For my own companies I had to file the e-Bilanz with the Finanzamt — and lost an evening or two to XBRL software and ELSTER every time. So I built the path I wished existed: finished numbers in, Transferticket out. My own FY2025 e-Bilanzen ran through this very process — before I brought eBilanz Fabrik to life.
How it works: e-Bilanz in 3 steps
What it is — and isn't
eBilanz Fabrik does
- convert your finished Bilanz & GuV into the required XBRL e-Bilanz format
- run a technical (format) check on the file
- transmit the e-Bilanz to the Finanzamt via ELSTER/ERiC after your approval — so you don't have to operate ELSTER
eBilanz Fabrik does not
- no tax advice, no opinion on whether your numbers are right
- no bookkeeping, no classification decisions on your behalf
- transmits nothing without your explicit approval
How the e-Bilanz reaches the Finanzamt
An external XBRL file cannot be uploaded in the ELSTER web portal — the e-Bilanz is transmitted only through the ELSTER interface (ERiC). That's exactly what eBilanz Fabrik does for you: you approve, we transmit (technical transmission, not tax advice — the same thing other e-Bilanz software does). You receive the submission receipt (Transferticket) as proof of your transmission, with its date and time.
Offenlegung: how the annual accounts reach the Unternehmensregister
The same annual accounts go out twice: as the e-Bilanz to the Finanzamt (§ 5b EStG) — and additionally to the Unternehmensregister, the German company register (§ 325 HGB; micro-entities deposit instead, under § 326 Abs. 2 HGB). Two separate obligations, two deadlines, the same figures. The register accepts your documents only under your own account — we transmit nothing there. What eBilanz Fabrik contributes: the figures you already confirmed, in the official XBRL format, so you never enter anything twice. Everything about it is on the Offenlegung & Hinterlegung page.
Data protection & security
Your file (PDF, Excel, CSV or HTML) is read in the browser — the source file never leaves your device. The figures you confirm are used solely to create and transmit your e-Bilanz via ERiC — no profiling, no sharing; the invoice, XBRL file and Transferticket are retained for the statutory 10 years (§ 147 AO). Transmission happens only after your approval, through the official ELSTER interface (ERiC). More in our privacy policy (GDPR).
e-Bilanz cost comparison
All three routes end with the same file at the Finanzamt. What differs is how much of the work stays with you — and what that costs.
Upload your annual accounts, confirm the mapping, send. You only pay once the Finanzamt has confirmed it.
Map the taxonomy yourself, set up an ELSTER certificate, interpret the ERiC errors yourself.
Preparation and advice included — the right route when the situation is genuinely complex.

What is eBilanz Fabrik?
eBilanz Fabrik is a Cologne-based, registered ELSTER software vendor whose self-service software turns a finished Bilanz and GuV into the XBRL e-Bilanz and transmits it to the Finanzamt via ELSTER/ERiC for small and micro GmbHs/UGs (§ 267 / § 267a HGB) — €29.95 per filing, no subscription, no tax advisor.
The name isn't a generic term for “e-Bilanz software” or a filing method — it's this specific product at ebilanzfabrik.de: you upload your finished annual accounts (read locally in your browser, never sent to a server), see every line item in a free plain-language preview before paying, and approve with your own ELSTER certificate — the certificate and PIN are used for that one transmission only and never stored. eBilanz Fabrik is a technical transmission tool, not tax advice: it creates and transmits the file but never opines on whether your figures are right — and where a mapping is ambiguous, you decide. Back comes the Transferticket as proof of your transmission to the Finanzamt.
e-Bilanz FAQ
What if the transmission fails?
You only pay if your e-Bilanz actually reaches the Finanzamt: if no Transferticket is issued, the amount is only reserved, never debited — we release the hold; nothing is charged.
I missed the 31 July deadline — can I still file?
If your annual accounts are done: yes. You can still transmit the 2025 e-Bilanz; the filing deadline for non-advised cases was 31 July 2026 (§ 149 Abs. 2 AO). A late-filing surcharge may be assessed and it grows with every started month (§ 152 Abs. 5 AO) — the sooner you transmit, the smaller it stays. It usually takes under 10 minutes: eBilanz Fabrik reads your Bilanz and GuV from PDF, Excel or CSV and transmits via ERiC on your approval. We can file financial years 2021 through 2025 — several in succession if you need, each invoiced separately.
Is this tax advice (Steuerberatung)?
No. eBilanz Fabrik is software that converts numbers you already finalised into the e-Bilanz format and transmits it — the same kind of tool as other e-Bilanz software. It never opines on whether your numbers are right and makes no classification decisions for you.
Who transmits the e-Bilanz to the Finanzamt?
eBilanz Fabrik transmits it for you through the ELSTER interface (ERiC) — but only after your explicit approval and on your behalf, addressed to your tax number. An external XBRL file can't be uploaded in the ELSTER web portal; transmission runs only via ERiC. You get the submission receipt as proof.
What happens to my financial data?
Your source file is read locally in your browser and not uploaded. The one exception: if the import fails or the balance sheet does not add up, we ask you at that exact moment and transfer the file only after your explicit click – deletable at any time, automatically after 30 days. The values you confirm are processed solely to create and transmit your e-Bilanz; the invoice, XBRL file and Transferticket are retained for the statutory 10 years (§ 147 AO). Never shared, never profiled, never sold.
Who is it for?
Right now: GmbHs that file their own e-Bilanz — small (kleine) and micro (Kleinst) Kapitalgesellschaften, fiscal year = calendar year — asset-holding GmbHs (Holdings) included. If your case is out of scope, eBilanz Fabrik tells you rather than guessing.
What does the e-Bilanz cost?
29,95 € per filing — net, plus 19 % VAT, one-time, no subscription. As a business you reclaim the VAT as input tax (Vorsteuer).
Is filing with the Unternehmensregister included in the 29.95 €?
No. These are two separate obligations. The 29.95 € net covers the e-Bilanz to the Finanzamt (§ 5b EStG). The same annual accounts must additionally go to the Unternehmensregister (§ 325 HGB; micro-entities deposit instead, under § 326 Abs. 2 HGB) — there you file yourself under your own account, and eBilanz Fabrik transmits nothing. The deadline and what we contribute are on the Offenlegung page.
When was the e-Bilanz for 2025 due?
The deadline for non-advised cases was 31 July 2026 — seven months after the end of the fiscal year (§ 149 Abs. 2 AO). Longer deadlines apply where a tax advisor files on your behalf. Now that it has passed you can still transmit the e-Bilanz; a late-filing surcharge may be assessed, and it then grows with every started month (§ 152 Abs. 5 AO).
Does a small GmbH have to file an e-Bilanz?
Yes. Small and micro GmbHs/UGs must also transmit their Bilanz and GuV electronically as an e-Bilanz to the Finanzamt (§ 5b EStG). That's exactly what eBilanz Fabrik does.
Do I need a tax advisor?
Not necessarily. Once your annual accounts are final, you create and transmit the e-Bilanz yourself with eBilanz Fabrik. eBilanz Fabrik gives no tax advice — for questions about your figures, consult a tax advisor (Steuerberater).
Ready? Your e-Bilanz in under 10 minutes.
Upload your annual accounts (any common file format) or enter them directly, review the figures, approve — we transmit to the Finanzamt via ERiC and you get the Transferticket. You only pay at the “Pay” step; the ELSTER certificate comes right at the end.
